A fine line between true awakenigs and mis-guided........

There is a fine line between true awakenings and mis-guided juvenile angst and anger aimed towards thier parents. One only needs to peruse some of the less credible web-sites by that I mean, those that don't screen out or at least ask members to leave the rpg psuedo out of the site as well as the "my parents just don't understand" folks as well. Now with that being said other-kin in general and vampires (vampyres) in particular need to understand the importance of maintaining a open and tolerable community. Todays poser may very well turn out to be tomorrows "Awakened".

So in the spirit of helpfulness I would like to offer some food for thought.

1. If you are claimimg to be a vampire and have been putting down that you are hundreds of years old on all your profiles. No one is going to believe you, do to the fact that although your spirit or soul may be vampire your body or vessel is 100% human. Thus making it impossible to become any older than say between 100 and 115 years old and those folks are rare. Why just recently it was reported that the worlds oldest person (115) had died. So if you have put down that you are 500 years old on a profile and then wondered why your request to join a particular e-list, group, forum site, House, Coven or Order. has been rejected. Then that my mis-guided friend is the reason why.

2. Vampire politics. This has been a hidden cause of more strife and mistrust among the vampire community. It's as if we don't have enough heartache and agrivation in dealing with those who would ridicule us in our personal lives. Bottum line in my opinion is we're not as different from from one another as some of those (who shall remain nameless) within the over all community would lead you to believe. We are seperated by our method gaining our donors energy. Even this only serves to classify us as to whether one is either Sanguine, Psychic, psionic, Tantric, Elemental etc..... Too many good Houses, Covens, Orders have been at odds merely because, once the whistles and bells are removed from the relm of "he said she said", It most often boils down to one or two "Elders" got thier feelings hurt.

3. In conjunction with the second thought of mine. I often wonder why there are those who fill the need to hate. You might be suprised to learn that I'm not talking about the mundane worlds view towards us. No, it is the kin whether they be vampire or other-kin that I speak of. It is completely pointless for someone who is sanguine to ridicule those who are Psy or hybrid, the same holds true for one who is psy. For when we practice and allow such behavior, then in my opion we are no better than the outside world (family, friends, religous) of the world who seem to take great pride in thier taunts and self importance. And we are better than that.

Finally, I don't want anyone walking away from these thoughts thinking that I am bitter and have lost hope in our community. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact I have a great amount of hope and pride in the community. Every passing day offers a opportunity to reach out to one another and trully become a "community". Yet every day there is one of our kind who steps up and says I can make a difference, I can reach out to others and not preach but trully share and communicate. That by itself is reason enough for me to say I am hope, I am pride, I am Vampire!
