- By what name do you choose to be called in the Maidenfear Community?
- Crystalis, or Crystal, or Crys, or C. call me whatever, i'm good with it all. lol
- How do you define vampirism for yourself? There are no wrong answers!
- Vampirism to me refers to those that are unable to sustain the level of their own personal energy stores due to either being less efficient at generating said energy or using it at a higher rate then most folks do, therefore causing a need to regain this energy via outside sources whether it be via sanguine methods or psionic methods.
- Have you tried to explain your vampirism to others? Any thoughts on this?
- Yes I have. And although I've had mixed results all have turned out well in the end of things. When the subject is approached correctly and with a discerning eye as to whom you speak to of such things it can allow for the ability to be more open about oneself with those that one is close to in life. Again though...it is important to be discerning in whom you would share such information with. Not all are as open or accepting of having personal belief structures and societal norms challenged, even when it is by the light of truth. My best advice in this department is to take it slow and use baby steps...if you start getting the heebie jeebie vibe from the person you are speaking to..back off and giuve them time to digest what has already been said. they will come to you when they are ready to hear more.
- Do you consider yourself a solitary vampire or do you prefer the company of others?
- My Kin are very important to me, especially those that are a part of my soul group, but I also am well aware that we each walk a solitary path and have an individual journey of discovery that is different for each of us. It is in our nature to be both extroverts and introverts in the most classical of senses so my answer would be....both.
- From the viewpoint of a vampire, if you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
- I'd have to say it would be the narrow viewpoints that society takes on what is normal. We are conditioned from birth to believe certain things, behave certain ways, speak certain words....it is stifled to self expression and in the long run it limits our potential as not only individuals but civilization as a whole. I would like to see judgments and preconcieved notions left at the door and watch what could happen once those things are out of the way. I think it would be a beautiful thing indeed.
- What do you want to take away from your Vampires Evolving experience?
- Kinship, friendship, knowledge and experience. An exchange of ideas and veiwpoints and a broadening of horizons.
- What do you feel you can contribute to the vampire community both online and in "meatspace"?
- I tend to have a very nurturing and encouraging spirit, i seek out those that feel at a loss and do my best to show them they are not alone. I do not consider myself a mentor exactly but i've been around awhile and can offer unique insights into the world around us.
